Solitary. Bell-shaped zooid resembling that of Vorticella mounted on contractile stalk containing a myoneme. Unlike other peritrich genera, the stalk shortens longitudinally in a concertina-like fashion when the myoneme contracts. If the stimulus is particularly strong then the stalk will also contract spirally.
