Sophia University and the National Institute for Environmental Studies (NIES) have, since 2006, co-organized this series of lectures to convey the current circumstances in environmental science to students and the general public.

In Fiscal Year (FY) 2013, a series of 13 lectures over four sessions will be held with the title “NIES-Sophia environmental science lecture series – reports from the frontline of research”. Researchers active at NIES will deliver a series of easily-understandable lectures (Japanese only) on various environmental issues - from global-scale climate change, waste and radiation in the aftermath of the Great East Japan Earthquake, to familiar organisms in our surroundings and environmental health impacts.

Anyone who wishes to attend can do so free of charge having completed the registration procedure from the link provided below. We are looking forward to welcoming you at the lecture series.
