Entries for the 1st NIES Picture Contest, which took as its theme “An Environmental City, 20 Years in the Future” will be displayed at the NIES Summer Open House, to be held on July 21 (Saturday), 2012. There will also be a prize-giving ceremony for the winning entries. This contest, which is this year being held for the first time, aims to deepen the interest and understanding of the next generation in environmental issues, as they will determine the future of such issues as well as of environmental research. There were a total of 321 entries, from which 12 were chosen to receive prizes at the prize-giving ceremony.
