DESCRIPTION

The twelfth session of the Conference of the Parties to the Climate Change Convention (COP12) and the second meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (COP/MOP2) is being held at the United Nations Office at Nairobi from November 6 to 17 in Nairobi, Kenya. During the duration of this event, the National Institute for Environmental Studies (NIES) will have a booth that introduces the activities of the institute with a focus on climate change. Also, with the cooperation of the Ministry of the Environment (Japan) and the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (United Kingdom), it will hold a side event entitled "Global Challenges Toward a Low-Carbon Society (LCS) Through Sustainable Development (SD)" on November 8. The booth exhibits are taking place in four locations within the two-storey building that is serving as a venue for this event. The NIES booth is on the second floor of the building, in the green zone, an area where the meeting participants tend to walk by. The booth has been flooded with participants since it was set up. In fact, at one point, the exhibitors had to stop setting up the booth before they were finished in order to answer questions.
