[ref. ID; 2014]
Animal trumpet-shaped lying within a usually clear and colorless pseudochitinous lorica which is roughly cylindrical, erect and attached directly to the substratum without a stalk. Each lorica may contain 1 or 2 animals (rarely more), which protrude beyond the simple aperture without valves. The zooids are directly attached to the lorica. The macronucleus is usually moniliform but is sometimes elongate and ribbon-like.
Most easily confused with Thuricola which has a valved lorica.

Lorica vase-like; case attached to substrate with its somewhat pointed posterior end; body elongated, the posterior end fixed to the base of the lorica; only the peristomal area extends beyond the lorica; macronucleus band-like; contractile vacuole near the buccal cavity. (ref. ID; 1219)
Measurements
Body about 50 um long; lorica about 40 um. (ref. ID; 1219)
Length of lorica 35 um. (ref. ID; 3343)
