[ref. ID; 2014]
Narrow, elongate, posteriorly tapered body with 2 rows of marginal cirri and a single row of ventral cirri. Frontal cirri distinct with the 3 anterior most ones enlarged. 4 caudal cirri but transverse cirri absent. AZM short, restricted to anterior body quarter. Contractile vacuole equatorial served by 2 longitudinal canals. Many macronuclei in chains with associated micronuclei. Found in mosses.
Placed by Borror (1972) in the genus Amphisiella.

Descriptions

Uniformly, there are 2 rows of right marginal cirri, one row of left marginal cirri, and several frontal cirri. There are 3 rows of dorsal cilia and no caudal or transverse cirri. The paroral apparatus is short. The macronucleus commonly is in about 15-16 fragments. One fission stage studied depicts developing frontal cirri in the opisthe similar to Cladotricha. (ref. ID; 3890)
