Body elongate, rounded in cross-section with the anterior quarter bent strongly to the left in the form of a beak. Body ciliated completely. Oral aperture in center of anterior quarter of ventral surface. Oral apparatus consists of a basket of trichites. There is an extensive post-oral frange composed of a transversely oriented line of compound ciliary organelles which traverses the complete ventral width and extends on both sides to the dorsal surface. Several small vacuoles distributed throughout the cell plus a single large terminal contractile vacuole present. Macronucleus ovoid. Genus created by Jankowski (1967) for the species Nassula heterovesiculata Gelei, 1939.
