Body spherical extended posteriorly as a small cone form which a fine stalk arises. There is no lorica. Tentacles few, arising from all over body and they have distinctly thickened ends. There are 2 contractile vacuole. The macronucleus is spherical and reproduction is by endogenous budding. Originally described by Frenzel (1891) who found it in a muddy pool in Argentina. Sand (1899-1901) and Collin (1912) both consider it to be synonymous with Tokophrya.
