Body shape spherical, usually found in chains of 4 individuals (length of chain 600 um). Body covered in many short cilia. Oral aperture difficult to distinguish. With zoochlorellae in cytoplasm. Without a contractile vacuole but periphery of cell with many vacuoles. Macronucleus rounded, centrally located. Planktonic. Description based on single report in Germany.
