Class Oligohymenophora: Subclass Peritricha: Order Peritrichida: Suborder Sessilina (ref. ID; 2014)
[ref. ID; 2014]
Body elongate and trumpet-shaped, enclosed partially within a stalked lorica. About two-thirds up the inner face of the lorica there is a valve which closes when the animal contracts. The macronucleus either ribbon- like or moniliform.
The genus has the same general form as Thuricola except that in the latter genus the lorica is not mounted upon a stalk even though in some cases the zooid may be stalked within it.
