Ophrydiopsis Penard, 1922 (ref. ID; 2014)

Class Oligohymenophora: Subclass Peritricha: Order Peritrichida: Suborder Sessilina (ref. ID; 2014)

[ref. ID; 2014]
Solitary. Body elongate, approximately trumpet-shaped, truncated diagonally anteriorly; constricted at the center and continuing back as a narrow elongate tube which is fixed posteriorly by a small disc-like scopula. The body is situated within a mucilaginous almost invisible large, wide case. The peristomial disc well-developed and its surface is depressed on one side to below the peristomial rim. It is most easily confused with Ophrydium which is colonial and with the solitary genus Gerda. Only one species described to date from a lagoon in vicinity of Geneva.
