Metafolliculina

Metafolliculina Dons, 1924 (ref. ID; 7702)

[ref. ID; 7702]
Remarks; Metafolliculina Dons, 1924 and Eufolliculina Hadzi, 1951 both have cells which attach to the lorica by means of a narrow foot. In both the lorica is clearly divided into a neck and ampulla. These genera are distinguished by relative sizes of the ampulla and neck, and by the strength of sculpturing on the neck. Cells in the genus Metafolliculina have very long necks with strong sculpturing, whereas the genus Eufolliculina was created for those species without marked sculpturing. (ref. ID; 7702)
