Body shape spherical, slightly compressed pole to pole. Oral aperture situated at apical end of body but difficult to observe. Body pigmented brown except for posterior region which is completely devoid of cilia. Macronucleus ovoid and situated to one side of the cell. Contractile vacuole terminal.
