Body oval, circular in cross-section, small (15-20 um long). The conspicuous anterior AZM is open. Body uniformly but sparsely ciliated with about 8 longitudinal rows of 5 to 6 cilia, with a long caudal cilium. Macronucleus centrally located and there is a terminal contractile vacuole.

Descriptions

The body, gray in colour, is oval with a round cross section. The circlet of adoral membranelles is open. Somatic cilia, forming eight rows, are longer and more numerous on the ventral side than on the dorsal side. The caudal cirri thick and long. The macronucleus is located anteriorly and a contractile vacuole is present at the posterior extremity. Movement is rotatory. A freshwater species. (ref. ID; 3389)
