Colonial. Elongate, approximately trumpet-shaped body lying within a globular gelatinous housing which is hollow and thin-walled so the zooids lie around the perimeter projecting from the case. The macronucleus is C-shaped. Rarely, only reported on one occasion in Africa. Could be confused with Ophrydium whose colonies are not ball-like and hollow.
