Gastrocirrhus

Gastrocirrhus Lepsi, 1928 (ref. ID; 7354)

Order Euplotida: Family Gastrocirrhidae (ref. ID; 7354)

[ref. ID; 7354]
Members of the genus are marine, cup-shaped, circular in cross-section, and planktonic or semi-sessile. There are neither left marginal nor right caudal cirri. The C-shaped macronucleus is moniliform. (ref. ID; 7354)
Remarks; Similarities in distribution of cirri suggest to us that Cirrhogaster monilifer Ozaki & Yagiu, 1941 and Gastrocirrhus trichocytus Ito, 1958 may be synonymous with G. adhaerens. (ref. ID; 7354)
Type species; Gastrocirrhus intermedius Lepsi, 1928 (ref. ID; 7354)
