Body pyriform shape with posterior end drawn out into a pair of claspers which are used to grip the base of a peritrichous ciliate. Capitate tentacles present, distributed over most of the body. Macronucleus spherical or elongate with reproduction by simple endogenous budding. A single species genus which is ectocommensal on the peritrich Apiosoma piscicola (Faure-Fremiet, 1944).
