Class Oligohymenophora: Subclass Peritricha: Order Peritrichida: Suborder Sessilina (ref. ID; 2014)

Colonial. Inverted bell-shaped zooids borne upon a branched stalk which contracts in a zigzag fashion, not spirally. The myoneme is continuous. Unlike other related genera in Entziella the peristome does not have a lip. There appears to be a single freshwater species which grows on the isopod crustacean Asellus. The genus is most easily confused with Zoothamnium which has a lip to the peristome and also with Myoschiston in which genus only the stalk of the upper of the colony is contractile.
