Body shape irregularly elongated ovoid with posterior end drawn out into a tail region. Covered 8 to 12 crenated ridges which spiral down around the body. Long cilia and retractile capitate tentacles are alternately located along the ridges. Macronucleus spherical and centrally located. Single contractile vacuole.
