Class Kinetofragminophora: Subclass Suctoria: Order Suctorida: Suborder Evaginogenina (ref. ID; 2013)

[ref. ID; 2013]
Body elongate, ellipsoid in shape of which only the apical part protrudes from out of the distinct cup-like lorica. The lorica is also elongate and has a posterior prolonged extension to form a stalk-like region for attachment via a broad circular plate. Capitate tentacles emerge from all over that part of the body that protrudes beyond the lorical aperture. Reproduction is by invaginative internal budding to produce a swarmer which is ciliated all over the ventral surface. Most easily confused with Paracineta which has a true stalk.
