Descriptions

Lorica covered with a capsular gelatinous coating mixed with fine foreign particles, 8 oral diameters in length; collar short, 0.08-0.10 of the total length in height, consisting of a low truncated funnel (50-55 degrees) formed by a suboral constriction and of an expanding angular ledge (68-77 degrees) which is nearly equal to the oral diameter; bowl narrowest below the collar; inflated at its middle, circular in cross section in its anterior part, usually becoming gradually triangular towards the blunt aboral end; wall separated in the upper one-third of the lorica. Comments

The species coated characteristically with gelatinous matters in easily distinguishable from forms of the other genera. (ref. ID; 3597)
