Small (about 25 um long) spindle-shaped ciliates that are bluntly pointed at each end. Dorso-ventrally flattened, ventral surface flat, dorsal surface convex. Oral aperture in anterior body half displace to left ventral edge. There is an undulating membrane of stout cilia visible on the right lip of the aperture. Somatic cilia borne in spiral grooves, cilia short few and dispersed. Contractile vacuole sub-terminal. Spherical macronucleus centrally situated. Single species genus.
